The third quarter of 2021 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 medical apps on the Android platform in Kenya. Below, we break down the weekly downloads and active user metrics for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

My NHIF from National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) experienced an interesting fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting the quarter with approximately 9K downloads, the app saw a mid-quarter dip to around 5.3K before rebounding to 9.4K by the end of September. Active users also exhibited a positive trend, increasing from 32.9K to 37K over the quarter.

BYON8 - Your health mate, published by byon8, showed a varied pattern in downloads. Weekly downloads began at 3.3K and saw a low of 695 in mid-July, but by the end of September, the app recovered to 2.1K downloads.

Diseases Dictionary Offline by ufostudio maintained relatively stable download numbers at the start of the quarter but faced a significant decline towards the end. Downloads decreased from 644 to just 95 by the last week of September. Active user numbers mirrored this downward trend, dropping from 2.5K to 1.5K over the same period.
